ATLANTA, GA – December 28, 2005 – Prenova announced today it has signed an agreement with a leading discount retailer for the provision of commissioning solutions to the customer’s 400 new stores scheduled to open in 2006. Prenova will, as part of this process, provide commissioning of the full spectrum of energy-related assets for the entire store, as well as running acceptance tests for various EMS control systems vendors. Once completed, Prenova will integrate these new locations into its Performance Assurance® solution agreement currently in place for the customer’s 2,700 existing locations.

Through its Performance Assurance® solution, Prenova provides a set of tools and processes that remotely identifies, analyzes, quantifies, and assists in the resolution of anomalies and opportunities in the operation of Energy Management Systems (EMS), HVAC equipment, controlled lighting systems, controlled refrigeration, and other energy-using assets. Performance Assurance® identifies asset failure in its early stages by proactively finding issues, errors, trends, and other information that currently increase energy cost and/or increase the cost of asset repair, replacement, service, and maintenance. A punch list of issues to be corrected is generated along with an asset scorecard to track, over time, the goals and actual performance improvement for each asset per customer location. This allows the customer or their designated agent to quickly and efficiently resolve the situation to minimize the cost of energy while reducing the risk of failure or impaired performance of assets and systems.

Discount Retailer Overview

The customer operates in 48 states across the Unites States, and operates discount variety stores. The customer’s merchandise mix consists of consumable merchandise, which includes candy and food, health and beauty care, and housewares.
