ATLANTA, March 13, 2007 - Prenova is pleased to announce that an upscale and traditional women’s retailer has chosen Prenova to serve as their energy management company. The agreement includes Utility Bill Payment, Utility Bill Audit, Utility Due Diligence, Rebates and Price Risk Management (supply side).
With this agreement, Prenova will provide its Bill Payment solution. This solution directs gas, electric and water utility bills to Prenova’s vendor, who scans the images, enters the data into electronic data format, pays the bills, performs certain first level quality checks, and sends the data to Prenova. The solution drives accurate and timely payment and avoidance or mitigation of late fees. Deliverables include Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and reporting, utility invoice processing and payment, stage one pre-payment audit, capture of expense and usage data, general ledger file transmission, monthly accrual file, missing invoice research and resolution.
The Utility Bill Audit solution provided by Prenova performs powerful processes on the data to create a work list of bill errors and anomalies, which Prenova investigates and resolves. In the event of errors from the billing party, Prenova notifies the party, and obtains a credit or refund on the Customer’s behalf. In the event of a non financial error, Prenova ensures that the information is corrected so that all reporting via PreVue® is accurate for benchmarking, budgets and forecasting, and actuals tracking.
The Utility Due Diligence program will assist this retailer with efficiently managing the process of initiating or discontinuing utility services across their portfolio for opened, closed, and relocated sites. For new sites, Prenova will contact the utility with the correct start-up date, and given Prenova’s knowledge of each customer’s operation, the company will negotiate for all potential discounts and work to waive or minimize required deposits. The retailer is ensured that the correct rate is assigned. Furthermore, Prenova will audit the first bill to ensure that the utility applied that rate. For sites that are scheduled to be closed, Prenova contacts the utility to terminate service on the applicable date. Often, closing dates equate to partial service periods, and Prenova ensures that all final charges are correctly prorated. We also ensure that all associated deposits are credited or refunded, and that any outstanding account credits are identified and applied prior to final account closeout.
Price Risk Management includes the continuous review of market conditions to assess and determine both the potential near-term and future impact on financial outlooks these market changes create for the customer’s energy supply portfolio in terms of potential savings or risks. Price discovery, and then the setting of a strike price by market, is a critical part of this solution. Prenova then develops strategies and plans for managing price and risk, recommends specific actions to the customer, executes the agreed actions, and performs Quality Assurance to ensure that changes are accurately implemented.
