Prenova’s Openings & Closings service helps customers efficiently manage the process of initiating or discontinuing utility services. Prenova’s utility management team works with appropriate stakeholders (customer personnel, general contractors, property owners, and/or utility suppliers) to ensure that accounts are setup properly before a new or remodeled location is open for business. They contact the utility with the correct startup date, identify or negotiate potential discounts, and work to reduce or eliminate deposit fees. They also ensure the best available rate is applied to each account.
When sites are closing, Prenova’s staff contacts vendors to terminate service on the applicable date. They also recover any deposits and credits, if available, after final bills have been reconciled. Close dates often result in partial service during a payment period, so Prenova makes sure final charges are prorated correctly.
