Solution: Prenova’s You’ve Got the Power to be Green! is designed to create efficiencies, eliminate waste and promote employee conservation habits. Conservation is more than good corporate policy; it’s critical for the future of our environment. It is important that employees have the knowledge, awareness and motivation to do their part to conserve – from the moment they walk into their workplace until lights out at the end of the day. Employees are encouraged via specially designed programs and specific actions to exercise energy efficient routines. The Program challenges employees to find additional ways to reduce usage with other workplace consumables. Recycling of consumables products such as paper, printer and toner cartridges, CDs, plastic, glass and aluminum, for example, is highlighted and strongly encouraged.

Outcome: The purpose is two-fold:
- make employees knowledgeable of conservation issues and opportunities; and,
- act to sustain and improve those savings achieved on a continuous basis.
A properly implemented and managed You’ve Got the Power to Be Green! program can reduce energy usage by 5 to 10 percent and help an organization to start on a path to a lower carbon footprint. Actions taken from this program are an effective way to find solutions for environmental problems, and the employees’ role of environmental steward may be one of the most important ever held. |
